Mélanges is the debut collaborative album from Naarm/Melbourne-based experimental percussionists, Rama Parwata and Maria Moles. Recorded at 3CR Community Radio for a live-to-air performance in 2021, Mélanges is a freely improvised suite of aleatoric percussion which exhibits Parwata and Moles not only pushing one another to their physical and conceptual limits but additionally sees the duo masterfully phasing between each other's dynamic rhythmic and textural ideas at a near-telepathic level.

Aptly named after an avant-garde percussion composition by Iannis Xenakis, Mélanges is a homage to the long lineage of improvised and experimental percussion, yet still delineates a neoteric statement within the established tradition.
